Assistant to the Chief Diversity Officer within the Equity and
Diversity Office manages the daily administrative and operational
tasks of Equity and Diversity, encompassing oversight of
significant programming operations and project management related
to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Social Justice initiatives.
The Assistant to the CDO will report to and provide direct support
for the Chief Diversity Officer.Essential Job Functions
Include:
- Develop and maintain a system for monitoring and managing
departmental budgets and provide periodic ad hoc reports. Will
assist with planning and preparation of departmental budget
requests, designation of accounts, track expenditures and
reconciliation.
- Develop and maintain a system for logging and monitoring
discrimination and harassment complaints, providing periodic
reports, updating forms, and ensuring that all policy and website
information is current and accessible.
- Oversight of operations for various functions such as cultural
heritage events, speakers, disability, and sexual violence
awareness programming. This may include tasks such as securing
venues, purchasing items, booking travel, etc.
- Collaborates with Professional Development to ensure campus
compliance with mandated trainings.
- Develops and implements department-wide training, policies,
procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide professional administrative support to the Chief
Diversity Officer, including scheduling meetings, utilizing
electronic calendar system to manage and coordinate schedules,
directing phone call inquiries and responding to inquiries as
appropriate, coordinate travel and process appropriate
documentation per the requirements of the college.
- Drafts, edits, and distributes documents, manuals, and
publications related to supporting divisional leadership including
but not limited to divisional communication messages, newsletters,
agendas, and reports.
- Develop training for student staff, both graduate and
undergraduate, and ensure that all students are trained annually in
office protocol and procedures.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's
degree with progressive administrative experience. Advanced MS
Office Skills including mail, creating and editing tables, and data
table in Excel. Experience creating reports using data gathered
from various sources. Ability to operate at a high degree of
independence and responsibility while performing varied and complex
tasks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to act
with integrity and professionalism, including sensitivity to
personnel and confidential information. Excellent time management
skills with proven ability to meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability
to organize work, set priorities, and work independently as well as
a part of a team. Ability to master content management systems for
websites, organizational chart software, and others as needed.
Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
Successful candidate must have experience working with diverse
populations.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in higher
