Job Description:
Essential Functions Include:
- Property Tax Audit and Assessment Challenges Support- Provide
data to jurisdictions and related consultants, coordinate site
visits and prep Linde staff for visit.
- Property Tax Abatement tracking and compliance including filing
annual, quarterly and semi-annual reports in a timely manner.
Coordinates with region contacts to gather required information.
Lead monthly and/or quarterly LGUS Regional meetings re: all active
abatements.
- Tracks and pays real property bills on owned and leased real
estate across multiple legal entities. Coordinates with real estate
department to be sure list of properties is complete and
accurate.
- Creates annual asset files by state and legal entity for 3rd
party compliance vendors to use in filing of business personal
property tax returns. Reviews files for reasonableness before
communicating and sending to compliance vendor.
- Prepares annual property tax accruals for LGUS / Corp / Global
Helium. Prepares annual property tax budget for liability and
receivables for LGUS / Corp / Global Helium. Work with LGUS and
Global Helium controllers to estimate changes in asset base and
implied changes in expected costs.
- Reviews and approves Property Tax Liability and Receivable
reconciliation for LGUS plants. Prepare true up entries.
- Communicates bill back files to NuCO2, LG&E and LGUS
entities for timely and accurate pass-through billing of property
taxes to customers.
- Calculates complex bill backs that require formulas and
Allocations across multiple customers (LGUS)
- Serves as a backup for the Director of Tax as needed.
- Act as Liaison between Compliance Vendors and the business for
process improvements, data sharing, payment communication.
- Validates property tax savings realized by challenging property
tax assessments and approves corresponding contingency
payments.
- Property tax due diligence for Merger and Acquisitions for
LG&E, including researching tax status of acquired
properties.
- Estimates expected taxes on new plants/plant expansions for
LGUS and Global Helium
- Provides documentation to customers for support of billback
invoices.
- Supervises clerical personnel as assigned.Qualifications:
- 4-year Accounting Degree
- 5 years of Business Personal Property tax experience in a large
multistate corporation, or relevant experience in a CPA firm
managing property tax for large client groups.
- Experience with Property Tax Abatement Compliance
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Skills:
- Experience with PTMS or other Property Tax management
Software.
